Mozilla Thunderbird

Set up your mail account:

  1. Click the Tools menu (Edit menu in Linux) Screen shot
  2. Click Account settings... Screen shot
  3. Click Account Actions... at the bottom then Click Add Mail Account... Screen shot
  4. Enter your name as you'd like it to appear on messages, the E-mail address given to you, your password, and whether you'd like Thunderbird to remember it for you. Then click Continue. Screen shot
  5. Thunderbird will get the settings from our auto-configuration server. Once it does, click Create Account. Screen shot
  6. Thunderbird will verify your user name and password.

If you have any problems with the automatic configuration, here are the steps to set up the account manually:

  1. Enter the following information: Screen shot
    • Username: your full E-mail address
    • Incoming:
      mail.renegadetech.com  POP   110  STARTTLS
    • Outgoing:
      mail.renegadetech.com  SMTP  587  STARTTLS
  2. Click Re-test Configuration. If the dots on the left are not green, check the spelling of the server names.
  3. When they're green, click Create Account. Screen shot
  4. Thunderbird will verify your user name and password.

Double-check the outbound server settings:

  1. Click the Tools menu (Edit menu in Linux) Screen shot
  2. Click Account settings... Screen shot
  3. Click Outgoing Server (SMTP) on the left, the mail.renegadetech.com entry on the right, then the Edit... button. Screen shot
  4. Enter Renegade Technologies for Description, and ensure your full E-mail address is in the User Name field. Screen shot
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click OK again and you are now ready to go.
